5 Favorite Things This Summer

Posted by Cindy Poiesz on

Summer's almost over for most of us (why can't everywhere have weather like LA). Summer doesn't have to end just yet though... we want to enjoy our five favorite things as long as we possibly can!

What have we been crushing on? Here's our top 5!

1.  Pineapple.

Pineapple is just delicious. And it's also an anti-inflammatory.  It's also one of the key ingredients in Power Pineapple Supernola, which is an anti-inflammatory powerhouse. What else do we love about it? I goes well with #5 and some yogurt...

2.  Coconut.

Coconuts are one of the most powerful and versatile superfoods on the planet.  The water of them is extremely hydrating, the skin inside them can be pressed for coconut oil and we all know the endless uses for coconut oil (check out this article for some ideas!  http://wellnessmama.com/5734/101-uses-for-coconut-oil/), or it can be eaten (hello, Supernola!!).  And obviously the shell can be used as a bowl or a bra, or pretty much anything you want.

3.  Apricots.  Apricots are not only delicious, but they are one of the lowest glycemic fruits you can have, so you won't be ingesting straight sugar like you're warned about with other fruits. They're also rich in antioxidants and fiber. And they can be dried so you can enjoy them all year long!

4.  Rambutan.  THESE ARE SO FUN!  They look like a crazy sea urchin, but couldn't be more different.  Similar to the taste of a lychee, these little monsters have so many health benefits.  Rambutan fruit is rich in iron, calcium, Vitamin C, and many other antioxidants. They're also fun to suck on.

5.  Dragon Fruit Limón Supernola.  How can we not crush over this.  Bold and pink, this flavor is summer in a granola.  Organic lemons are zested and squeezed to give the refreshing citrus flavor, while red dragon fruit naturally colors it a bright pink. Rich in Vitamin C and magnesium, this antioxidant rich flavor of Supernola will have you dreaming of summer all year long. Keep summer going and stock up!
