Recipe Time: Holiday Superfood Porridge

It's getting cold.  Time to cozy up next to that fire with some warm breakfast.  This holiday superfood porridge recipe with Goji Spice Supernola is sure to warm you up from the inside out, fueling your holiday cheer all day long!

This recipe is gluten free, grain free, dairy free, and of course, paleo.

 

Makes about 4 servings (1/2 cup). 

 

Ingredients:

1 cup almonds

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 tablespoon hemp seeds

2 teaspoons hemp protein powder

1/3 cup shredded coconut

1 1/2 cup almond or coconut milk

1 tablespoon honey

1/2 - 1 teaspoons ceylon cinnamon

Dash of salt (we used Cyprus Black Lava salt)

Goji Spice Supernola (get some here!)

 

Directions:

Grind the almonds and chia seeds until they are in small pieces, but before it turns completely into almond meal. In a small pot, combine the ground almonds, hemp, shredded coconut, hemp protein (to give you that added protein you need), and milk.  Mix together and turn the heat to medium-low (3 out of 10). Cover with a lid and cook for 30 minutes, stirring every 8 or so minutes. Stir in the honey, cinnamon, and dash of salt once thickened.  Top off with Goji Spice Supernola, and you have a nutritious and delicious warm breakfast sure to keep you going all day!
