It's our dedication to high quality, nutrient dense ingredients that makes Supernola so super... but also the superfood ingredients themselves! 

We've carefully hand-picked each of our suppliers and are proud to work with and support many fair-trade organizations, family-run businesses and local farms. We source as local and as direct from the actual producer as possible, and our proud to know where each of our ingredients come from.

Hemp Seeds:  Thankfully our friendly Canadian neighbors can legally grow hemp! These seeds contain the most balanced nutrient profile, with 6 immune-boosting fatty acids, protein, fiber, vitamins A and E. Hemp seeds contain all the essential amino acids the body needs, making them the perfect addition to Supernola.

 

Chia Seeds: These little things do the most good as seeds and not as the hair on your chia pet.  They're full of antioxidants and provide the most omega-3 fatty acids out of any plant, packing more protein, fiber, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and manganese than any other food. They also help to regulate insulin levels, and provide a feeling fullness.  Unlike some other superfood seeds, these can be ingested whole to receive all that they have to offer, so we keep them whole in our Supernola. Sourced from expert chia farmers who only produce chia seeds, and nothing else! Our chia seeds come from mountainous central Mexico at a cool elevation which gives them the most nutrition and omega-3's.

 

Flax Seeds:  These brown seeds contain a significant amount of fiber, as well as omega-3 fatty acids.  Due to their lignan content, they are a great anti-inflammatory, and may help lower cholesterol levels. We ground our flax seeds so your body can easily absorb all of the goodness these seeds have to offer!

Organic Unrefined Coconut Sugar:  Derived from the blossoms that grow on tropical coconut palm trees, unrefined coconut sugar is one of the healthiest sweeteners you can find.  It's low on the glycemic index, so it won't give you the sugar rush and then crash like table sugars and other refined sweeteners. It also contains nutrients such as potassium, magnesium, zinc and iron. A little goes a long way with coconut sugar, so we keep it to a minimum in Supernola.

Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil: Coconut oil's popularity continues to grow, and we're totally on board.  This oil is not only known to promote healthy cholesterol levels, help boost the immune system through anti-microbial lauric acid, and boost energy, but it is easily digestible and may help your body burn fat. Our coconut oil is certified organic, non-GMO, and wet milled giving it more antioxidants than by cold pressing!

Natural Almonds: These delicious and nutritious nuts are high in vitamin E, manganese and protein compared to other nuts.  Almonds are also a good source of phosphorus, magnesium, copper, and riboflavin. They are know to help control blood sugar and cholesterol levels, are alkalizing, and are high in antioxidants. Our almonds come from a family-owned farm in California and are non-GMO.

Organic Ceylon Cinnamon: Also called True Cinnamon - because most cinnamon found in North America isn't actually cinnamon, and can be poisonous in higher levels. Ceylon cinnamon is amazingly healthy, as it has been found to have anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.  It may also improve digestion, lower blood sugar levels, improve the body's ability to respond to insulin, lower cholesterol,  and boost memory.

Organic Ground Ginger:  Ginger is one of most versatile and well-known natural healers out there, with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, that have been shown to reduce pain in some instances, and help with digestion naturally.

Goji Berries:  These beautiful red berries are packed with antioxidants and fiber.  They're also a significant source of Vitamin A and may help support the immune system and protect the liver. Goji berries contain 18 amino acids and 21 trace minerals. USDA Certified Organic from China.

Red Maca:  More nutrient-dense than regular Maca, Red Maca is packed with vitamins and nutrients that are believed to reduce stress. Red Maca is also well known for its energy boosting properties, and has been used to enhance endurance and performance, and aid to reduce a number of male and female reproductive-related issues. This root vegetable is from organic family farmers in Peru.

Cyprus Black Lava Salt: This exotic salt from Cyprus is infused with activated charcoal to help cleanse and detoxify the body. It contains natural minerals and trace elements that help to increase hydration, regulate water levels, balance pH, reduce acid reflux, prevent muscle cramping, aid in metabolic function, help the intestines absorb nutrients, improve circulation, dissolve and eliminate sediments to remove toxins. This very special salt has more of a concentrated flavor than typical salts, so you get more of the salty taste with less sodium, making Supernola a very low sodium granola.

Walnuts:  Walnuts are rich sources of Vitamin B & E, calcium, potassium, manganese, and of course protein. These superfood nuts are considered to be brain-healthy by improving brain function. They contain omega-3 fatty acids and other powerful antioxidants, while also being known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Our walnuts are the American Black variety from Missouri.

Pecans:  Pecans contain phytochemicals and Vitamin E, giving it strong antioxidant properties. Pecans are one of the best sources of B complex vitamins like niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic, folate, vitamin B6, and thiamin, and also provide essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, selenium, zinc, potassium, and manganese. Our pecans are from a family owned farm in the southern state of Georgia.

Cashews:  These nuts are not as well known for their good, but they're good nonetheless! Cashews contain vitamins and minerals that are not as common, such as Vitamin K, folate, magnesium, copper and iron. One ounce contains 20% of the suggested daily value of magnesium alone, a mineral of which most people are likely to be deficit.
